Engineers are used to working in the background in a low key but vital role to ensure the successful implementation of projects. Both in the private and public sector we add the engineering detailing and practical methods to make the ideas of designers take shape and form in the real world.
Therefore we are pleased to have made that essential contribution towards the “Soul to the Street” improvement scheme in Walton High Street by Elmbridge Borough and Surrey County Council. The Stilwell Partnership, based in Ash Vale near Guildford:
• Consulted businesses and local residents on the outline scheme
• Included their feedback in the final detailed design
• Coordinated with the water, electricity and other utility companies with Surrey County Council (the Highway Authority) for connections, diversions or permissions;
• Prepared engineering contract tender documents and a select list of suitable contractors
• Worked closely with the winning contractor, preparing the traffic management plans and liaising with local businesses during construction;
• Managed all parties obligations under the Construction, Design and Management Regulations to ensure the Health & Safety of all those involved in the project ;
• Supervised the works through to completion, continuing to liaise with utility companies / suppliers and shopkeepers on any issues which arose.
