Fleet parking restrictions row continues

20 01 2011

Parking is one of those topics about which many people have strong views. Parking strategies aim to find an acceptable compromise between a “free-for-all”, and some limited waiting which optimises the available parking and allows passing trade to stop or the servicing of local businesses.

Previously in this blog we have given the example of a member of the public being caught out by private car park operations. Because it can be such an emotive topic, one has to make sure that the statutory regulations, and road signs and markings are all implemented correctly. The Stilwell Partnership has extensive experience in the use of Traffic Regulation Orders to enforce limited waiting and were appointed to advise Hart District Council in Hampshire. Parking regulations will never please everybody all the time but we were pleased to see the balanced reporting in the local Fleet News and on the Get Hampshire website: http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/news/s/2085857_fleet_parking_restrictions_row_continues
